Performed in English, German, French, and Cello, Scenario employs precise sequences of abstract buffoonery, mesmerizing musical rhythms, and a strict musical score in which Andre Erlen is both conductor and orchestra as the extremely physical and self-conscious "Instrumental Actor". Erlen sardonically, ridiculously, and thoughtfully dramatizes both the difficulty of making meaningful art, and the frustrating art of describing that difficulty. Especially when there is nothing to work with but a cello, fire, ping pong balls, water, flour, buckets, fishing line, and every inch of a stage!

"Erlen's performance is precisely arranged. His voice changes pitch constantly, corresponding with other sounds. His body is permanently transforming, and in an ingenious way planning and accidentally composing a many-voiced, obviously not harmonic, but expressive show."
